Well, after 9 months of waiting, v1.2 RC2 is here! It’s been a long trek with many challenges. But along the way we’ve done what we can to advance the framework and the community. There is now a fairly solid book available on the framework, a brand new easier to navigate website, a much more solid and stable framework (dare I say the most stable of all the Ajax RIA’s) and along the way we threw in some performance enhancements to boot. Additionally, we’ve attended AJAXWorld East, the Ajax Experience West and JavaOne this year! And before the year is through we’re going to be at AJAXWorld West and the Ajax Experience East. Further, we’ve been working on some exciting new things for ThinWire that we’ll be sharing with everyone shortly. So overall, it may have seen like a long time, but we’ve come a long way and we thank those of you who are ThinWire supports for sticking by us. The future looks very bright indeed!
Ok, so back to business. Our goal is to have v1.2 final out by our appearance at next weeks AjaxWorld 2007 West show. Yes, that’s a short schedule, but we think v1.2 RC2 is more or less stable enough to be promoted to final. Therefore, please take the time to download RC2 ASAP and test it within your applications. If you find any bugs or issues that are new, then please report them right away so we can get them fixed prior to final. Now, with that said, we have recently branched the ‘trunk’ into branches/1.2 within the SVN repository so that we can start working on large scale changes to the codebase for 1.3. Therefore, if you have been following the trunk for stability reasons, please do an SVN Switch to point to branches/1.2. The trunk will be highly unstable for the next few months while we practice some extreme browser magic
